Do you ever just get lost in watching your kids play and then tear-up? That is me everyday! I can't explain my love for my children. It's an overwhelming feeling. When I think about how much I do love them my heart could literally burst! They are precious.
My husband teases me all the time about my softness. My kids know I'm soft, too. For example, this morning Sarah was complaining in her car seat. She just had to be unstrapped. I looked back and told Stephen that the look she gave me melted my heart. If it wasn't for my rational I would have unbuckled her. Don't get me wrong, I believe in discipline. My kids know they can't cross me or there will be consequences.
This week, Juliana proved to me how much she is growing mentally & physically. She was all about helping me with Liam. So much so that she got the leftover mac & cheese out of the fridge, put it in a bowl and then asked me for help to reheat it.
She also decided that she wanted to be in charge of cleaning off the counters and table and sweeping the floor. I've watched her do it over and over again already. As a parent, you hope that cleanliness rubs off somewhat and you hope as they get older they will start to pick-up things to help out their family. I am just thrilled that it has happened this soon (especially with her being the oldest).
Sarah loves to wipe things, too. She is great at knowing the difference between what is trash and what isn't. She takes it upon her self to throw things away because she knows that they don't belong. She enjoys clearing the table after each meal, too.
I am such a proud mama. These blessed children are truly that: a blessing. I thank God each day for letting me help Him just a little bit in His plan of Salvation. I hope and pray that not only will I help my children reach Heaven someday but that they, too, will help reach others.

I miss the kiddos so much!! Juliana is getting too big! I still am in shock she called me complaining about how I didn't get her a card! lol. I hope Sarah liked her card at least haha. Give them all kisses for me! And you are a great Mother Mary!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the blog Mary! So glad to see you have one :) I have been doing this (blogging) for almost three years now, crazy. I started when we were in the process of adopting Mateo and Ellie and now I try to update so I remember this crazy time with little kids. Hey can you put the blog you found with the $5 meals? I would love to see how that is done!
